trekgirl.constable@gmail.com Kind & Compassionate January 22, 2013
To the Family of Ken Yocum:

I counseled with Pastor Ken the summer of 88. He was so kind and compassionate. He was able to give me the strength to make decisions based on his sharing his life experiences. His love for the Lord and his ability to encourage me was a gift I cherish. He was a warrior for God. We have lost a great man of God. I pray he is given a place of honor near our Lord, and that God sends us a replacement. The world is in great need of more Ken Yocums.
Karen (Brustin) Wallace LOVED HIM May 2, 2012
I remember Ken, when my first husband and I watched him do "Somebody Loves You", in 1968. I went on to write poems for him and read them in his Theatre Church. Before moving to TX, after my first husband of 34 years died in 2 months! Ken counseled me to get through that and was even at the hospital when my husband was going through chemo. He baptized my husband there.... and Junior loved Ken!! He also baptized the rest of my family too. One in a million he was!! Honest, Truthful and always told it like it was, as only he could do!! Loved him!! Karen (Brustin) Wallace

P.S. He's with "BIG DADDY" now, right where he should be !!!

One other thing........He passed on my first husband and I's Wedding Anniversary! Sort of fitting, since we've loved him since we were married on September 14, 1968.
Glenn Shaw I'll miss you. January 12, 2011
Kenneth and i had a number of deep discusions in the late 60's and early 70's and me not being a person of faith i can say he was the best there ever was. I was telling my daugther about him today and did a Google and read the bad news. His famliy should be very proud.  Glenn
Bill B Bob the dog January 10, 2011

I will never forget the first time I saw Ken and his son Bob the dog. It was a rare treat that anything would put a smile on my face, yet there I was smiling as Bob talked to Ken about how the Fireplug Gang was going to get him in trouble. Ken really had a way with words. Now Ken, and I suspect Bob also, are in Heaven with the Lord. Without Ken, Bob and I might still be out with the Fireplug Gang getting into all sorts of trouble. RIP Ken.

Marcus Thompson Farewell September 28, 2010
For the past 3 years, Ken Yocum helped me when I was battling depression. I am really going to miss our talks. He was a wonderful person who did a lot of good in the world. It was an honor meeting someone like him and he won't be forgotten.
Clint & Susan Wilson Dear Yocum Family September 20, 2010
Rev. Yocum married us Aug. 30, 1968 at the then Epworth Methodist Church. We attended "Our Saviours Chapel" for approximately 8 to 10 years. In Aug. 1993 Ken officiated at our 25th wedding anniversary vow renewal ceremony. It was absolutely wonderful! I counseled with Rev. Yocum several different times during our years at The Chapel. I was always going to send him a card and write how thankful I was that this man of God had come into our lives, but regretfully never did. Our deepest sympathy is extended to you, his family upon your loss of a magnificent man. I believe he is with The Father in Heaven now, free of all physical ailments and enjoying the fruits of his labors. He is at his final destination and I hope you can all rejoice about that some day. With deepest sympathy to all of you.

Helen and Jack Sandmeyer Grateful for his love and caring September 19, 2010

To the family of Ken Yokum,

During the long illness of our husband and father, Ken was our mentor and friend. He made many hospital visits and took time to minister to our concerns.

He was a fine man and will be missed by many.

Helen Sandmeyer, and son Jack Sandmeyer

My friend/mentor Rev. Ken Yocum kept me from the edge so many times in my teens I don't think I would have survived without him. We would go see films on Saturday afternoons. He was the first person to show me the art of compassion. I am very grateful I was able to see him one last time before he passed away; we talked about old times & I gave him a copy of my poetry book & he laughed when he was told he was in the thank you section. It still doesn't seem real.
Terese Speck A candle in the dark September 18, 2010

When I was 21 and rather a lost soul after a traumatic marriage, Ken was a light in the darkness.  His classes and his messages showed me a way out, and forever I will be grateful for his kind and wise counsel.

To the family members of dear Ken, I'm so sorry for your loss - this was a great shock to all his friends, and admirers.  What a life of service he lived.

Thank you for sharing him with us all these years.
