This has been a great loss for all of us.
Kenneth has been the most important figure and influence in my life.
For over thirty five years he has been my counselor, mentor, racquetball partner,
and most of all, my very best friend. We shared our thoughts, high points and
our concerns, over coffee on countless days. I have lost the only person
in life, that truly understood me.
I loved you Ken.

May you be in the presence of the greatest Love of all Rev. Ken. From your earliest days in the late '69 to present, you were the reminder to me that 'Love' will always find a way! Love is the greatest power on this earth and you and your memory will always be loved.
Deepest sympathy and condolence to his family.

Rev. Yocum died on the 45th anniversary of the tornado that destroyed our grade school. While the school was being rebuilt we attended school at his church on Columbia Terrace and got to know him there. He was always kind and cared about every one of us. I will always remember him with great affection. God bless him and his family.

Good-bye |
September 16, 2010 |
To Deb, Larry, Wendy, and their families,
You father was a part of our family for over 35 years. He was more than a minister, he was our friend. He baptized my son, Adam, and watched him grow up. He always asked about him every time I saw him.
I will miss him and grieve with all of you.

Dear Yocum Family:
I never met your dad, but I remember listening to him many times late at night on tv when I was much younger. I always felt that if I ever got into real trouble, he would be someone to talk to. A man with a clear and simple yet compelling message. Our community is a lesser place without him.

Rev. Yocum |

Dear Yocum Family –
On many occasions I read the little messages Reverend Yocum placed in the Peoria Journal Star and thought “I should write him a note and send a donation to his ministry” and I never did – something I find myself regretting this morning after reading his obituary. His messages were very simplistic but they were very meaningful none-the-less.
It does make me smile to think of him rejoicing in heaven with the Lord he loved so much.
My condolences to all of you –
